Summer Book Study

Hello! I am following along with a summer book study on the book "Teaching With Intention"by Debbie Miller. I've posted the link below to Teaching With Styles post about it if you would like to follow along as well! I always love to read "teaching" books throughout the summer, when I actually have time! Yesterday I picked up the new copy of  'The Daily Five: Second Edition" by Gail Boushey and Joan moser. Then I saw this post this morning and thought it would be another great read for the summer ( I also picked up Reading with Meaning couldn't help my self)! Hope you try one of them this summer :)

Happy Reading!
Carolee

Mrs. Jumps Class Give Away

Mega Math Giveaway, a Freebie and a Bonus!

Last summer Deedee and I talked about how our District's math curriculum just wasn't cutting it.
It wasn't fun to teach and it wasn't engaging for the kids.  AT. ALL!
Out of those conversations our math units were born.
We are amazed at the growth we've seen in Number Sense and Problem Solving.
And the best part?
These units make math workshop so much fun!  We've had lots of feedback from teachers telling us that their students love the hands-on math lessons and activities.

Deedee and I are pleased to have added our 8th unit to series.  Unit 9 should be available within the next few weeks.  The final unit (Unit 10) will be completed in May.

We have the units available individually and in bundles.

Here are some of the photos from the unit.

Spring Card #1

I have been wanting to make some cute spring cards! When I saw this Sweet November image, "Josie's Brella", I knew it would be my first one! I think she is so adorable:) I got the idea for this card from, Christy Gets Crafty on You Tube. Ornament Tree

I made this after seeing a post on one of my favorite DIY blogs,
In My Own Style. Here is the link for that post, http://inmyownstyle.com/2013/11/christmas-minute-ornament-tree.html. She gives you the directions on how to make it there:) But basically you just get a 14" knitting needle and you string the ornaments onto it starting with the largest on bottom and working your way up to the smallest. I used medium sized ornaments of different shapes and small ornaments. I think it might of worked a little better if I had used a combination of large, medium, small and miniature bulbs but I really like these Vintage ones from Target!

Merry Christmas and Happy Crafting!
